Red, White, and Blue Garden
The red, white, and blue garden demonstrates how we can get creative using different colors and textures to create a themed garden. This garden is designed to bloom with the colors of our flag to honor our veterans. If you are interested in creating your own red, white, and blue garden, here is some information about blue plants, as they can be difficult to find. Illinois Extension Blue Plants
Otherwise, here are some more examples of themed gardens.
A rainbow garden.
A moon garden with all-white flowers to glow in the moon’s light.
An all-pink garden to raise breast cancer awareness.
A purple and yellow garden to show your support for the Vikings.
A Garden with your school colors.
You can also get creative by creating shapes or patterns with the plants, like creating a giant UMN logo or the shape of a flag. Different varieties of plant height, or the use of colored grasses, could make a flag garden look like it is waving in the wind. You could also add small details like banners, colored stones, statues, or signs to further add to your theme.
